Consulting

My career began with a job in the British dairy industry in the late 1980s. A vacancy soon arose in the Brussels Office and I left the UK and moved to Belgium in 1992. Two years later, I set up as a self-employed consultant specialising in food and agriculture.

I’ve been back in the UK since 2018. Such is the nature of modern working that location hasn’t made a big difference. A computer and internet connection are the basic necessities, although personal contact will always have an important role in business.

I have had the pleasure of working with a variety of clients in a range of disciplines, from lobbying the EU institutions and analysing markets to translating and proofreading texts.

Insights into EU legislation and advice on future changes to it.

Past and present clients include the Australian dairy and meat sectors, EU institutions and private organisations.

Detailed analysis of food and agricultural markets and what affects them.

I’m a Senior Consultant with Gira, a team of researchers based around the world. Gira is active in dairy, meat and bakery.

Reviewing material for spelling, grammar and style: proofreading, rewriting and translations from French and Russian.

Proofreading and editing also form part of my ‘Websites’ services.
